Absolutely

It seems I have a bad habit of only blogging once every two months. In the midst of last semester, I could use my very busy schedule as an excuse... But now that I've been home on winter break for two weeks and have another two weeks to go, I don't have an excuse.

I've been debating sharing my goals/plans for 2016 with y'all for a while. A part of me has been hesitant, and I think it's because of how weird and terrible of a year 2015 was. I'll do it, but before I do that, I want need to reflect on last year.

The things I wanted to accomplish in 2015 vs what I actually accomplished in 2015:
  1. Save money. I didn't save money at all. In fact, I wasted a lot of money. Not proud of that, but it is what it is, and I'll spend 2016 working to reverse that.
  2. Get to goal. I did this! On February 13th, I got to goal. That was definitely a highlight of my year, and having maintained my weight for the entire rest of the year is something I'm really proud of.
  3. Continue lifting weights. I did this, but only until May. Then came summer and an extremely busy Fall semester, and working out was put on the backburner. Slowly but surely, I'm getting back into it.
  4. Choose joy. Oh man. This year made it really hard to choose positivity. There were times when I just couldn't, but there were also times when I made the choice to stand up and choose happiness after life knocked me around a bit. Those are the moments that I am most proud of.
  5. Be brave. I think being able to look at a bad situation and say "I deserve better than this", "I am not going to let this defeat me", or "I do not think I can do this, but I'm going to try anyway" is courageous, and I did a lot of that last year.
  6. Get into the Dietetics program & excel. I did part of this! I got into Nutrition, and haven't declared my option in Dietetics yet, but I have been doing well!
2015 was hard for me, emotionally. My mental health took a dip for a while there, and I felt a little lost but regardless, I'm thankful for all the opportunities for learning and growth that it brought. I'm also so thankful for the new friends and new experiences that I got to have, and I'm so looking forward to sharing more new experiences with my friends.

The things I want to do in 2016:
  1. Overuse "I love you". I can't think of one bad thing that comes from letting loved ones know that you love them.
  2. Keep GPA between 3.2 and 3.5. Gotta get into grad school!
  3. Keep doing me. I've been focusing on myself and what I want for a couple months now and sometimes it's frustrating and lonely, but I know that it's worth it.
  4. Keep maintaining my weight. I worked hard to get to this point!
  5. Be brave & choose joy!!!
I'm not sure exactly what this year will bring, but I'm looking forward to it.
