Looking Ahead to 2015
2014 was a pretty good year for me. I:
- spent a week in New Hampshire and visited UNH
- started it off with a job that I really enjoyed; one where I was able to express my creativity
- saved a lot of money and proved to myself that I'm good at managing my finances
- got into my dream school
- celebrated 2 years with Brandon
- spent the summer hiking and exploring my beautiful state with Brandon
- moved to New Hampshire
- lost more weight
- got back into weightlifting (!!!!)
- ended the year by finding out that I finished my first semester at UNH with a 3.91 GPA and highest honors on the Dean's List!
This year was incredible. I am surrounded by amazing people who support me in everything that I do. I am healthy, happy, and ready to take on the new year!
I am a goal oriented person. If I set a goal, I always give it my all and do my best to crush that goal. I haven't really set any resolutions for the past couple of years, because I much prefer goal setting, and I believe that there is no time like the present to get started on achieving my goals--I don't have to wait for Monday, a new month, or January 1st... The time is now!!!!
My plans for 2015 (that I'm already working towards):
- Save money! I'm going to try to save just a few dollars per paycheck. Better than nothing, right?
- GET TO GOAL. Jesus, I've been trying to get to goal for YEARS (I wish I was exaggerating) and I'm 8 pounds away and I am soooo excited to finally get there!
- Continue lifting weights. Right now, I'm able to squat 130 for 3 reps, and I want to be able to squat ~200 by this day next year. I'm ~obvi~ going to keep working on other parts of my body but that's the main goal: squat ~200 by next NYE.
- Choose joy. In moving and trying to adjust to East Coast life, I feel like I've lost my ability to see the positive in every situation. Sometimes I feel like it gets lost in the shuffle... But I'm going to be more positive again.
- Be brave. I was very brave in 2014, and I'm going to continue being brave in 2015. It'll be the year of really stepping out of my comfort zone.
- Get into the Dietetics program and excel!!!! The application is due in February and I'll find out in April, so I won't actually be a major until Fall 2015 BUT I'm going to get in, and then I'm going to be the best.
I hope y'all had a fantastic year, and have a beautiful, joyful, love-filled 2015. Happy New Year!
-Emily
